Leading when it gets tough
The man said, “Who made you ruler and judge over us? Are you thinking of killing me as you killed the Egyptian?” Then Moses was afraid and thought, “What I did must have become known.” Ex 2:14
God revealed His plan to Moses, a plan to bring the Israelites out of Egypt. When Moses asks God, “Who am I that I should go to Pharaoh and bring the Israelites out of Egypt?” , it comes from the heart of one who has murdered and knows his guilt before God. But instead of rebuke, Moses hears, “I will be with you. . . . IAM WHO I AM” Ex 3: 11-12
This is the same “I Am” who calls you to serve Him today.
We can all relate to Moses when leadership gets tough – a humble spirit and God’s backing is what we need to keep on keeping on!
Father, thank you that we only lead by your empowering and that you are with us in our imperfect ways when we lack belief in ourselves and in our calling.
