Soul Connection

Blog

Girls' Brigade Australia has always been committed to seeing the lives of everyday girls transformed. Over the past 125 years, we have helped girls and leaders to seek, serve and follow Christ. This blog is just a small glimpse of the connections we hope to have with our leaders nationwide.

Great are the works of the Lord

Great are the works of the Lord, they are pondered by all who delight in them.  Glorious and majestic are his deeds, and his righteousness endures forever.  Psalm 111:2-3

Not everything goes the way we pray or believe sometimes.  At times our expectations end in disappointment instead of victory:  e.g when someone dies of cancer after a fierce fight of faith; or when you’ve done everything right at work and someone else get’s promoted.

Its in those moments – when faith-shakers rock our world – that we have to trust.

When disappointment eats away at us, we have to persevere and believe God anyway.  We have to allow that experience to build our trust instead.  We have to believe God is up to something bigger, working all things together for our good (Romans 8:28).

So when you next face an unmet expectation, let it spark in you even greater expectations of what God is up to.  Your loving God is ‘ able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine”  Ephesians 3: 20.

Heavenly Father – Thank you for the comfort that you offer when things don’t go the way we expect.  Help us to remember that you have the answers and even greater things for us.   As the interview panel meets with applicants for the job of Operations Manager, we pray for wisdom and discernment – to know just who you want in GB now.  For girls and leaders around our country we pray that all may be enjoying learning about you and seeing what great things you can do each of their lives this year.  Please add specific state, regional and company prayers ………….
