FONO 2020 FAQ

WHERE IS IT?

The Tops Conference Centre, 515 Bendena Garden, Stanwell Tops, NSW.

WHEN IS IT?

Monday 6th to Wednesday 15th January 2020.

WHO CAN COME?

Pioneers in 2020 (Year 9 and older). We will be operating two streams; one for girls up to 18 years of age, and one for young women aged 18 to 21 who wish to attend as participants.

HOW MUCH WILL IT COST?

$998 plus airfares to and from Sydney Airport. All activities, meals, two t-shirts, a hat, and accommodation are included. Transport to and from Sydney airport is also covered by camp fees.

WHO IS ORGANISING IT?

For the first time ever we will be sharing the site with PAC, the Boys’ Brigade national camp. This Fonomarae is organised collaboratively by the national bodies of both the Girls’ and Boys’ Brigade, largely through committees of volunteers working all around Australia.

While Boys’ and Girls’ Brigade are working together and sharing some activities, PAC and Fonomarae are two separate camps and will have separate as well as shared time.

WHAT ACTIVITIES WILL WE BE DOING?

Each Fono program is unique and takes advantage of local attractions, however you can expect a mix of challenges, down time and devotions. We’re excited to reveal that activities will include onsite activities, Jamberoo Action Park, time at Stanwell Beach, an Amazing Race, and electives.

WHAT ARE THE ELECTIVES?

Electives are to be announced and will be hosted at the campsite. We welcome input from participants as to the type of electives they would like to choose from. Some from past Fono’s include high energy activities, through to craft, to chill and creative activities. All suggestions considered, however not guaranteed.

HOW DO I REGISTER?

Complete the registration eForm on Caremonkey and pay the deposit of $200 before May 31st 2019.

HOW DO WE PAY?

Either via direct deposit or using CareMonkey’s payment facility Stripe. Please contact us with any further questions.

CAN I PAY IN INSTALMENTS?

Yes! We suggest you pay in installments of $200 a month.

WHO IS ORGANISING FLIGHTS?

Girls’ Brigade Australia is organising flights to and from major cities for State Contingent groups. These flights will have leaders for supervision purposes. Cost of flights will be advised after registrations are finalised.

CAN I ORGANISE MY OWN FLIGHTS?

Yes – please ensure you specify this when you register. Note that incoming flights need to have landed by 3pm on Monday 6th January and departing flights should not take off before noon on Wednesday 15th January. Girls’ Brigade Australia is not able to arrange adult supervision for under 18’s on self-booked flights.

HOW DO TRANSFERS TO AND FROM THE AIRPORT WORK?

Transfers to and from Sydney airport are included in the camp registration fee. It is participant’s responsibility to travel to and from the airport in their state.
