Rise in strength is the Girls’ Brigade International theme for 2022.

Based on Isaiah 40, we are reminded that our strength comes from the Lord, and no one else, because there is none like him.

Strength in Faith and Prayer
As part the sermon series on the Parables of Jesus at our church, we recently looked at the parable of the persistent widow in Luke 18:1-8. A key point was the strength in prayer. If we are to rise in strength we need faith and prayer.
Our pastor shared this quotation: “Faith prompts prayer. Prayer strengthens our faith.”
Both are needed. Whatever is before us, to rise in strength we need to do it in faith, and to Rise in Strength – Girls’ Brigade Australia 2022 theme – and move ahead with faith – we need to be praying. Are we persistent coming before our incredible, loving God who desires to give us – whatever we need – to face whatever is before us – to give us the strength? Jesus himself tells us to Seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness. Matthew 6:33
