News Bits & Bites 7th March 2024
On Friday 8 March 2024, a team of 10 members from across the Girls’ Brigade family will meet in New York for the UN’s Commission on the Status of Women (one of the world’s largest global gatherings specifically focussing on gender equality).
During the week, the team will be attending different sessions at the UN building, meeting their own country’s UN Permanent Representatives to advocate on gender justice issues as well as speaking at a number of different events organised by other faith-based organisations. With the aim of amplifying the voices of younger women of faith, the Delegation of Hope is also leading its on event as part of the UN NGO CSW scheduled on Friday 15 March.
The team have been meeting regularly online since September 2023 and are excited to meet in person!

Two of the members of our Delegation of Hope to UNCSW – Ibinibo Patrick from Nigeria and Dange Barziring from Papua New Guinea – have been invited to contribute to a virtual session organised by the World Evangelical Alliance.
