Girls’ Brigade NSW Life Membership Award
The Life Membership Award is overseen and awarded by The Girls’ Brigade NSW and awarded to ladies who are either current serving leaders or retired leaders who have made significant contributions to Girls’ Brigade as outlined in the Awards Policy.
Eligibility for Life Membership:
- Life Membership can be given to either current serving leaders or retired leaders.
- There can be only one life member actively serving in a company at any time.
- Serving life members’ fees will be covered in the following way – The company will pay the National and International fee component of the annual fee, and the state will waive the state cost of the annual fee.
- The application is to be signed by a minimum of two people
- The application has a minimum of two letters of recommendation
- The nominee has made a significant contribution to The Girls’ Brigade NSW
And
The nominee must meet one of the following two criteria:
- Has served in a company leadership role for more than 10 years and has served in a role above company level or has served in a company leadership role for more than 15 years.
To nominate an award recipient for a Life Membership Award, complete the Life Membership application form and submit to the State Commissioner.
Once received, the Board will review the application. Further clarification about the nominee may be sought when considering the application. Once a decision has been made, the nominators will be contacted regarding the outcome. Nominees for the Life Membership Award will be considered individually and on their personal attributes and achievements and not in comparison with others
If successful, the recipient will receive a Certificate recognising their service.

The Esther Award
The Esther Award is awarded to individuals who are not members of The Girls’ Brigade NSW but have had a positive impact on the outcomes of the association.
To nominate a recipient for an Esther Award, complete the Esther Award application form and submit to the State Commissioner.
The Esther Award should not be considered as a competitive matter and nominees must be considered individually and on their personal attributes and achievements and not in comparison with others.
